Cameron Herold: Let’s raise kids to be entrepreneurs

Great talk! More schools need to start encouraging children to be creative, innovative and teach entrepreneurial skills in classes. Especially when children are older and have become focused primarily on the academics; they often stop thinking outside of the box. Parents and teachers should not only be nurturing entrepreneurial skills in children but continue to do so for young adults. It’s never too early or too late to start. Regardless of whether they become entrepreneurs in the future, entrepreneurial skills are life skills that every independent child and adult should have. With the growth of technology, this can become more easily accessible and engaging for anyone willing to take the first step.

I find it quite funny that he so candidly relates ripping from the poor to rip off the rich to changing the world.

That’s great, we should teach our kids to be manipulative business people.

Cameron does a great job exploiting the opportunities available outside of the “traditional” good paying jobs our educational system funnels us into. Awareness of these opportunities available through entrepreneurism, followed by support from parents is a powerful gift to kids!

This sort of video reminds me that I spend too much time watching YouTube. 🙂

He’s right of course. Too much of the message of education is to do what you’re told, and rarely do we encourage kids to be the ones doing the telling.

This is a wonderful presentation Cameron, My school  was all about the number of Doctors and Architect undergrads it produced. I never fitted in, it was only when I reached 50 that I was able to let go a lot of the baggage and be who I am, an artist. It is only now that in my 56th year that I am becoming the entrepreneur that is within me.
Thanks for this insightful talk, I am going to go against the populace and steer my son back onto the path that is natural for him.
