David M. Rubenstein—author of The American Story, the visionary co-founder of The Carlyle Group, and host of Bloomberg TV’s The David Rubenstein Show—has long been fascinated with leadership.
What makes a great leader? Are leaders born or are they made? Does extraordinary leadership arise from personality, mental or physical skills, or the simple good fortune of being in the right place at the right time?
For the past five years, Rubenstein has conducted behind-the-scenes conversations with some of the highest performing leaders from the worlds of finance, tech, entertainment, sports, and government. Now, these conversations are distilled into an essential leadership playbook for our times: HOW TO LEAD: Wisdom from the World’s Greatest CEOs, Founders, and Game Changers.

I am thinking about a new type of restaurants : eating-spots,
in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate,
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are way more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days
menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app

Interested in buying David’s book now. It sounds like he’s taken a lot of time to really study leadership. His book kind of reminds me of a variation of “Think and Grow Rich”. Looking forward to reading it. Thanks for posting this interview, Gary!

I learned from a different video that Gary interrupts people because he knows what they are already thinking and wants to move the pace forward without wasting time. His show & his power to do so 😁💯

Thank you for this Gary, really enjoyed it! I didn’t really have time to watch all of it but i did anyway! Interesting to hear that humility is common amongst great leaders – that’s what i’ll be taking away with me and keeping in mind. Thanks again mate 🙂

After a successful investment, you have nothing to worry about whether rise or fall of the economy or anything won’t affect you, make your future brighter by making good investment.

You’re G, you motivate me to share my story and grow my brand. From Canada, I’m First Nations and breaking cycles in my family and for my people. Snow shovelling everyday, I hope to be in a position to inspire my nieces & nephews. Learning leader, thank you helping me on my path.

This is a such inspirational interview and enjoy so much with the kindness and humility with openness. In today’s world, we need more this type of sharing with facts, research, interaction rather than over the top of exaggeration. There are just too much information, and I am so happy that Gary has invited the author of the book “how to lead” (note: I am also surprise as Gary about this title is available for a book publish).

One of the most impactful sharing from the video. (which I have re-listen several times)
    (1) Author’s quick definition of what leadership is >> best leaders have failed and overcame. They recognize the lucky and know not too brilliant on themselves. They are willing to share credit, motivate others and have humility. They have integrity, and other people want to follow because great role model they are.
    (2) Gary’s sharing on: candor is kindness.

big thank you for doing this interview!!
