Vusi Thembekwayo | the biggest mistake entrepreneurs make, starting a 2nd business too soon.

This was the final Masterclass that the master entrepreneur & investor Vusi Thembekwayo held in South Africa in 2018. It was filled with entrepreneurs of all races and ages, and the lessons to learn are aplenty. The main lesson here was "when do you know when it is time to start a new business?" This is amongst the most contentious issues in the entrepreneurs' life today.

Whilst the digital team didn't want to post this video on account of the QA of the standards, Vusi felt that the lessons for entrepreneurs are so powerful it, must be shared.

Watch this video, it is HOT!

So I’m a London based entrepreneur and I am currently building my supply chain businesses. My source / base is in Zambia and my market is global.. Listening to this, I realised that I have been on the cusp of making this fundamental mistake. Thank you Vusi and please do come to London, we need your insight, guidance and consulting!

In life be willing to make mistakes and learn from them, this will give you a good go because now you know and your business will reward you if you believe and love your work. Don’t just do it for money or you will FAIL and it will be hard to pick the pieces and carry on.

Sir, good evening. I really appreciate your teachings. Im into network marketing but since its very difficult as a starter, is it advisable to do any other business to support myself? Thank you.

Vusi, you are very correct about the ‘boyfriend/Husband” Analogy. A former CEO of mine in Consulting made this mistake over and over again. The new businesses never grew and he only trained new employees to have the leave or get them fired when he was not getting the short term rewards he had expected from the new businesses.

This has been a game changer I was about to make a mistake I need to get back on the drawing board competition and learning process of new business can destroy capital and commitment of the old business. Thank you I know vusi .

I’m hanging some of VT’s quotes on my wall. These words hit me hard
“Never get your husband to finance a relationship with your boyfriend.”

I like the way you switch from the fluent English to the South African tongue, unfortunately I’m not South African and I don’t understand the language but the combo is awesome.

    Thank you Vusi

“Pay to play!!!” 😍🙅🏽‍♀️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 And “Don’t use your husband to finance your boyfriend!!!” Don’t use one business to finance another 🤯 ✨🙌🏽

I agree with what vusi said on using your business’s profits to finance the other business. I was a makeup artist. And I was one of the best. But I used my proceeds to finance other businesses that ended up failing. And my makeup business was struggling because I wasn’t using the proceeds to finance my business and Be able to compete with my competition. I wish I had seen this video earlier.
